Our students’ stories

First-hand impressions from those already studying in China with MoonGate.

My name is Ayhan. I hold a bachelor’s degree from Gubkin University in Moscow and am now pursuing a Master’s in Applied Economics at Wenzhou University in China. The programme is taught in English, and I was awarded a university scholarship that fully covers my tuition and accommodation. Wenzhou has impressed me with its stunning natural scenery, distinctive architecture and rich Chinese culture. The local cuisine deserves a special mention: the variety is enormous, everything is delicious, and it is remarkably affordable. I am sincerely grateful to the MoonGate team for their support at every stage — from choosing the right programme to receiving my admission notice. They met me on arrival, helped me register at the university and made settling in so much easier. Thank you for making this journey so smooth and for helping me begin a new chapter of my life in China!

My name is Hajy, and I’m from Turkmenistan. I’m currently on the Foundation Programme at Northwestern Polytechnical University in Xi’an. Classes are taught in Chinese, and every day I notice the language becoming clearer. Xi’an is a remarkable city: the ancient capital of China, where historic pagodas and the city wall stand alongside modern districts. It is especially beautiful in the evening, when everything lights up with glowing lanterns. Thank you to the MoonGate team for their help with admission and their support at every stage — from choosing the university to receiving my admission notice. With you, the whole process was easy and stress-free!

Scholarships

Grants & scholarships

Studying in China can be partly or even fully free. Scholarships are awarded competitively: your grades, achievements and documents decide, and we'll honestly assess your chances and help you apply.

全

Full scholarship

The most valuable kind of support: studying in China at almost no cost. For example, the Chinese Government Scholarship.

  • Free tuition
  • Free accommodation
  • A monthly stipend
  • In some cases — medical insurance and a medical check-up
半

Partial scholarship

Covers only part of the costs. Terms depend on the specific scholarship, university and province — for example:

  • A 50% or 75% tuition discount
  • Paid tuition but free accommodation
  • Free tuition and accommodation but no stipend
  • A stipend without covering tuition or accommodation

A scholarship is a competition, not a guarantee

The number of scholarships is limited and competition for each place is high. The decision is made by the university or a scholarship committee, and no agency can guarantee the result. The type of scholarship depends directly on your documents: the stronger your profile, the better your chance of full funding. During the consultation we'll honestly assess your chances — no empty promises.

FAQ

FAQ

Didn't find an answer? Leave a request — a consultant will contact you.

Do I need to know Chinese to apply?

Chinese-taught programs require an HSK certificate. The required level is set by each university: some accept bachelor's applicants with HSK 4, others only with HSK 5. If you don't speak Chinese yet, you can start with a Foundation program or a language course, or choose an English-taught program.

How much do your services cost?

It depends on the study level and the services you need. Terms are discussed individually during the consultation — the first one is free.

Do you help with the visa?

Visa application is not part of our services. After admission we hand you the university's admission notice and the JW201/JW202 form — with these documents you apply for a student visa yourself at a Chinese consulate or visa center.

Can I get a scholarship?

Yes, we help you apply for a scholarship. But keep in mind: a scholarship is a competition, and the decision is made by the university or a scholarship committee. Whether it's full or partial depends on your grades, language certificate, achievements and documents. During the consultation we'll realistically assess your profile and tell you what you can expect.

When should I start preparing?

Applications for the September intake run in several rounds: the first from November to January, the second from February to April, and the third from April to June. The earlier you apply, the wider the choice of programs and the better your scholarship chances. So it's best to start preparing in autumn, 9–12 months before your studies begin.

Do you work with school students and parents?

Yes. We help choose a school in China based on the child's age, language level and interests, guide the admission process and stay in touch with the family after the move. We advise parents at every stage — from choosing a school to the first months of study.
